Factory profiles
A factory name is the first thing a buyer is told and the hardest thing to check. Each profile states what the workshop is reported to build, whether it is still producing, which names get confused with which, and what the public record does not cover. Nothing here is rated.

BP Factory
Also written as: BP
A long-standing entry-level label used across brands in dealer catalogues.
Which factory names do dealers actually use?
A label on a listing is the only factory data most buyers ever see, so it is worth knowing which ones are in circulation. The counts below come from a snapshot of 1,285 listings at one Japanese dealer in September 2026. That is one snapshot, not the market.
| Label on listings | Listings in the snapshot |
|---|---|
| VS / VSF | 183 |
| CLEAN | 93 |
| APS | 55 |
| BBF | 41 |
| ZF | 37 |
| QF | 36 |
| BETTER | 31 |
| DDF | 27 |
| EWE | 26 |
These counts show which factory names dealers actually put on listings, not which factories are still producing. A label can outlive the workshop it came from.
Which models does each label cover?
The same snapshot, grouped by what the label is attached to. This is how a buyer can tell a specialist from a generalist without trusting anyone's description of themselves.
| Label on listings | Listings | Model families it appears on |
|---|---|---|
| VS / VSF | 273 | Omega Seamaster 34 · Rolex Daytona 31 · GMT-Master II 29 |
| CLEAN | 121 | Rolex Daytona 57 · Datejust 14 · Submariner 12 |
| ZF | 85 | AP Royal Oak 22 · Patek 14 · Richard Mille 12 |
| APS | 84 | AP Royal Oak 44 |
| QF | 74 | Rolex Daytona 37 · Day-Date 24 |
| BBF | 53 | Hublot 36 · Patek Nautilus 12 |
| ARF | 49 | GMT-Master II 23 · Submariner 9 · Daytona 7 |
| 3K | 35 | Patek Nautilus 14 |
| PPF | 33 | Patek Nautilus 15 |
| BETTER | 31 | Rolex Daytona 31 |
| EWE | 28 | Daytona 9 · GMT-Master II 8 · Submariner 5 |
| DDF | 27 | AP Royal Oak 13 · Patek Nautilus 11 |
Which model families each factory label appears on, counted across one dealer catalogue. A label can outlive the workshop it came from, and one label can cover several families.
Which labels have no profile, and why?
These labels also appear on dealer listings, but nothing is published about them: no test, no status event, no documented supply chain. We list them so the index is complete, and we do not give them a page, because a page that could only say "we found the name and nothing else" is not worth a reader's time.

If you can point to a public source about any of these (a dated test, a shutdown notice, a catalogue distribution), it goes on the site with the source attached. See About.
Why a profile can say "unknown"
Factory names in this trade are not registered trademarks held by the workshops that carry them. They get reused, sold and claimed by sellers with no production behind them. So a page here can end up saying "we could not confirm current production": that is a result, not a gap we hid.
